Love may be blind, but data is certainly not blind.

But data doesn’t always help you to see. It may help you hear if you’re willing to listen.

Data produces all kinds of noise. There is always something in the data that doesn’t fit. Like the gloves in the OJ trial…That data is ignored, rationalized or massaged in a way to get it to fit into the story.

Perfect data doesn’t exist. It is not just a matter of flawed data collection. The more data elements that you try to collect the more likely there is to be something wrong

Even if you really tried to get the data perfect, there would still be some mutation in the data that seems to happen.

So while data can help you hear part of the story, it is just a small part of the story.
