Humans are problematic.

We want don’t necessarily want change but in order to sell things to us we need different.

We want simple, but making things feel different often adds complexity. The complexity adds value right up to the point that it doesn’t…

And then welcome to the world of computer software or even information products in general…

Add feature after feature until you get to the point, there are too many features.

And then it is back to a strategy of keeping the features but hiding the complexity.

That is a nice trick when you can pull it off, but even by hiding complexity you adding another level or layer.

The battle between simple and different is potentially a source of imaginative solution finding…or it is part of the yin and yang of life.
